Flat-wire (rectangular-wire) linear motors are widely applied in fields such as semiconductor equipment and precision machining, owing to their high slot fill factor, excellent heat dissipation performance, and high power density.


Features

• High Precision Requirements: 

The number of turns must be exact; even a discrepancy of a single turn can alter the inductance or voltage ratio.


• Space Utilization (Stacking Efficiency): 

Within the limited confines of the bobbin, the arrangement of wires to achieve maximum fill factor is critical for enhancing power density.


• Reliance on Insulation: 

The winding process relies heavily on the protective enamel coating on the wire surface; if this coating is damaged, inter-turn short circuits can occur very easily.


• Electromagnetic Coupling: 

The specific winding method—such as co-directional, counter-directional, or bifilar/trifilar winding—directly determines the magnetic field distribution and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
